I’m not exactly what you’d call fashionable—and that’s perfectly fine with me! I’d take comfy sweats over Gucci any day, happily swipe my daughter’s hand-me-down makeup, and choose a peaceful walk over a pricey concert. It’s just how I roll.
But here’s the kicker: turns out, I’ve been in vogue all along—and I had no idea!
Why, you ask? Well, I take a nap. Every. Single. Day.
Without fail, sometime between noon and 2:00, my body stages a full-on protest. It’s like, “We’re done here until you recharge.” All I need is 10 to 20 minutes, and I’m back in action. I used to be embarrassed about my daily nap habit. I’d come up with excuses like, “I’m going to go read for a bit,” or, “I’m heading upstairs to tackle the closet.” Anything to avoid admitting that I needed to rest. Somehow, I’d convinced myself that taking a nap was a sign of weakness.
But guess what? It’s not! Turns out, “power napping” is a real thing—and it’s very on-trend. Apparently, it comes with a laundry list of health benefits: sharper focus, improved mood, better memory, lower risk of heart issues, even enhanced physical performance. Who knew?
So, there you have it—I’m a trendsetter! And the best part? I didn’t even have to change out of my sweatpants.
Give power napping a try. Your body just might thank you.
